40 Year Reunion

The Central City High School Class of 1947 held their 40th Reunion Saturday, June 28, 1987 at Lake Malone Inn, beginning with a reception, and dinner following. Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Gene McDonald, and guests were Mr. and Mrs. Delmas Gish and Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Cather. A large bulletin board held many pictures and memories of school days, and music of the 40's was played. Mr. Delmas Gish made a talk to the delight of everyone.

Mrs. Virginia Cummins presented a Lake Malone print to each of the classmates; Mrs. Cummins is the artist of the beautiful Collector Print of Lake Malone. Mr. Don Evitts received a print of the Central City High School for being the person traveling the furthest. Mrs. Cummins is also the artist of this print and made the presentation.

A moment of silence was dedicated to the memory of the following class members: Mary Lois Turley Sommers, Bobbie Jean Richey, Giles Miller, Marvin Dossett and W.C. Mobberly. It was unanimously voted to hold another reunion if five years.

Toll and wife, Madison, Tennessee; Wilma June Bates Wilcox and husband, Harold; Virginia Doris Baxter Cummins and husband, Ken; Ronald L. Beane and wife, Katie; Emily Jane Bodine Stewart and husband, Randall; Bobbie Nell Conrad Smith and husband, Frank; William “Billy” Shaver and wife, Martha; Geraldine Sparks Black and her daughter, Lee Ann; Robert “Bobby” Shaver and wife, Betty; James L. Jenkins and wife, Jimmie; Carl T. Mitchell; and Mr. and Mrs. Delmas Gish and Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Cather, all of Central City.
