Negro Veteran Dies at Nichols Hospital
Fred McAdoo, 36, Negro, Cleaton, died Tuesday, December 18 at the Nichols General Hospital in Louisville. He was a veteran of World War II and served with the Marine Corps.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McAdoo, Cleaton, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Cleaton, the Rev. C.L. Jones, pastor, officiating.

Charles S. McCoy, 77, of 217 Center Street, died Wednesday at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. born in Stewart County, Tenn., a son of the late W.W. and Betty Joiner McCoy, he was a retired coal miner and a member of Wing Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn McCoy; a son, Roy McCoy, Maryville, Ind.; a stepson, Raymond Conway, Owensboro; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Louise Hite and Mrs. Mildred English, both of Owensboro; two brothers, William McCoy, Owensboro, and Clarence McCoy, Largo, Fla., and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Jackson, Greenville, and Mrs. Lewis Dukes, Powderly.Services 10 a.m. Saturday at Delbert J. Glenn Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Butler, pastor of Wing Avenue Baptist Church, officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.

Ella McCoy
Mrs. Cliffie Ella McCoy, 78, of Drakesboro, died Sunday, Oct. 25, at Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
She born in Rochester and was a member of St. Paul AME Zion Church, Drakesboro.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Reed of Gary, Ind., Bobby and Billy McCoy of Drakesboro; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willie Cartwright of Flint, Mich., and James Cartwright of Michigan City, Ind.; sister, Mabel Cartwright of Drakesboro.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Paul AME Zion Church. Burial will be in the Browder Cemetery.

Motor of Mine Claims Victim, Crushing Him
Frank McCoy Steps In Front of Heavy Power Car, Which Cuts Off Leg, Mashes Other
Central City, Ky., March 9 - Frank McCoy, 25, coal digger at the Holt mine, at Cleaton, three miles from this city, was killed at 2 o'clock by the motor of the pit, which is owned by the Gibraltar Coal company. It is on the L & N
railroad.
McCoy stepped in front of the motor, which was dragging a string of cars, and was knocked down and one leg cut off clean, while the other was mashed. He regained consciousness for a short period and talked with those in the mine getting him from under the heavy motor, but when the motor finally was lifted from his crushed leg, he died in the arms of another miner.
McCoy is survived by his widow, who was Miss Sallie Fentress, and one child. The body was removed from the mine and to his home here and will be buried tomorrow in the cemetery here.

Mrs. Charles McCoy, 68, Buried May 6
Mrs. Hattie McCoy, 68, died at the Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4.
She was born in Muhlenberg County on June 6, 1898 and was a member of the Woodson Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles McCoy of Central City Route 3; two sons, J.W. and Charles Harper of Evansville; daughter, Mrs. Juanita Maddox of Central City Route 3; brother, Frank Jackson of Central City Route 3; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodson Baptist Church, with the Rev. Houston Noffsinger officiating. Burial was in the Coleman Cemetery.

Mrs. Mattie McCoy, 78, Is Buried Today
Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth McCoy, 78, of Central City, died Monday, May 2, at 9:30 p.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was born in Ohio County on April 18, 1888.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James Tucker of Powderly and Mrs. Elmer Slinker of Central City; two sons, Edward Foley Stevens of Evansville and Roy Lee Stevens of Illinois; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Mrs. Lewis Dukes of Central City, Mrs. Andrew Jackson of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Carroll Hearin of Evansville; three stepsons, Charles McCoy of Central City, Clarence McCoy of Cheswick, Pa., and William W. McCoy of Owensboro; two brothers, Charlie Shoulders of Central City and Lewis Shoulders of California; one half-sister, Mae Clark of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Services will be today (Thursday) at 1 p.m., the Rev. Ora DeArmond in charge, assisted by the Rev. Houston Noffsinger. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Richard McCoy, 78, Dies Feb. 24
Richard (Dick) W. McCoy, 78, of Central City, died in Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sunday, Feb. 24 at 7 a.m.
Born in Butler County Sept. 22, 1895, he was a retired miner and a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary McCoy of Central City; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Nell Bailey of Sturdivent, Mo. and Mrs. Martha Frances Hawker of Woodbury, Tenn.; son, Charles McCoy of Martwick; two step-sons, John W. Baggett of Houston, Texas and Henry C. Baggett of Evansville; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth and Lewis McCoy of Nashville; sisters, Mrs. Hallie Fulkerson of Central City.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with the Rev. Joe Davis in charge, assisted by the Rev. Ronald Burnette. Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery.

Roy E. McCoy, 63, of 114 Church St., Maceo, died Thursday, March 7, 1991, in Owensboro. He was born in Central City, was a computer operator for LTV Steel before retiring, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hall McCoy; three sons, Ronald Hall of Maceo, Barry Hall of Owensboro and Donald Hall of Newburgh, Ind.; two daughters, Janet Boone of Maceo and Susan Summers of Owensboro; and 10 grandchildren.
Services are at 7 p.m. today at James H. Davis Funeral Home. Burial in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Ind., where graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. CST Saturday. Visitation from 1-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Drakesboro - Walter Herbert McCoy, 57, negro, died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday at his residence in Drakesboro following a long illness.
He was a native of Rochester and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cliffie McCoy; three sons, Bobby and Eugene of Drakesboro and Billy of Louisville; stepson, Charles Reed of Evansville; and 13 grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Dan Washington, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial was in Browder Cemetery.

William W. Mccoy, 71, 1627 Mayo Ave., Owensboro, died Tuesday, April 24, 1984, at Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital. He was born in Mortons Gap, was a retired painter for Medley Distilling Co., and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Opal McCoy; four sons, Ralph McCoy of Owensboro, Jimmy McCoy of Merrillville, Ind., Raymond Earl McCoy of Brazil Ind., and Gerald McCoy of Madisonville; a daughter, Donna Horn of Maceo; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dolly Jackson of Greenville and Mabel Young of Powderly.

13-Year-Old Girl Dies At Owensboro Hospital
Nina McGee, 13 years old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Porter McGee, of Martwick, died at the Owensboro hospital at 4:20 o'clock Tuesday morning. The body was removed to Martwick for burial.

Greenville Woman Dies in Owensboro
Mrs. J.T. McIntosh, of Greenville, died at the Owensboro city hospital at 10:05 o'clock Monday night of complications of diseases. Mrs. McIntosh was admitted to the hospital last week for treatment. She was 26 years old. The body was removed to Greenville where funeral services were conducted.

J.H. McLemore, 79, Dies at Beech Creek
J.H. “Jim” McLemore, 79, of Beech Creek, died suddenly at his home Tuesday following a heart attack. He has been a resident of Beech Creek for 34 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Stringer McLemore; four sons, C.E. McLemore, Beechmont, merchant; Otto McLemore of Evansville; Kenneth McLemore of Russellville; and Paul McLemore, superintendent of schools at Swanton, OH; one grandson, Guy Gene McLemore; one granddaughter, Miss Shayron McLemore of Swanton, OH; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Fields of Hampshire, TX.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending the arrival of relatives. The body was taken to the Parker-Washburne-Pannell Funeral Home in Beech Creek.
