Mrs. Addie Jackson, 87, of Central City Route 3, died in the Muhlenberg
Community Hospital Tuesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. She was born in Muhlenberg
County Nov. 16, 1887.
Survivors are a son, Frank Jackson of Central City Route 3; daughter, Mrs. Hattie McCoy of Central City Route 3; three grandchildren; two brothers, Bud Mitchell of Central City and Ben Mitchell of Powderly; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Noffsinger of Central City and Mrs. Dee Board of Powderly.
Funeral services will be today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. at Woodson Baptist Church with the Rev. Houston Noffsinger officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.

Dollie E. Jackson
Greenville-Dollie E. Jackson, 85, formerly of Greenville, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995, at Village Nursing Home in Fort Union, Va., after an illness of several months. She was born in Earlington, was a retired homemaker, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived in Virginia for three years prior to her death.
Survivors include a son, John R. Jackson of Scottsville, Va.; a daughter, Jean Caswell of Harrisonburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and several [great] grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. today at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will be in Nebo Cemetery at Route 1, Greenville. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until services today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Georgia Jackson, 72, Buried Today
Mrs. Georgia E. Jackson, 72, died Monday, April 18, at 10 a.m. in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was born in Ohio County.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Opal Patterson of Grapevine, Texas; three brothers, Roscoe and Gordon Fulkerson, both of Central City and Levi Fulkerson of Bloomington, Ill.
Services will be today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. in Central City, with burial in Pond Run Cemetery in Ohio County.

Congressman's Son Buried at Penrod
Penrod - Bradley James, 67, Penrod, died Thursday afternoon in Logan County Hospital. He was a native of Muhlenberg county.
He was the son of the late Addison D. James and Belle Penrod. His father was a U.S. congressman from this district and a delegate to the last state constitutional convention in Frankfort.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winnie James, two daughters, Miss Mary James, Penrod, and Mrs. Ruth Blankenship, Oberlin, Ohio, three son, Maj. G.H. James, Elgin Air Force Base, Fla., B.B. James, Pontiac, Mich., and Sfc. Harry James, Red Stone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala., and two sisters, Mrs. Corina Matherly, Atlanta, and Mrs. Mary Bewley, Tulsa, Okla., 14 grandchildren.
The funeral was at Penrod Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Jewell Vincent officiating. Burial was in the Penrod cemetery. He was a member of the Penrod Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ivy Jameson Is Buried Today
Greenville - Mrs. Ivy L. Jameson, 90-year-old widow of the late James Oliver Jameson, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 26, at her home in Greenville.
She was born in Christian County July 28, 1881 and was a member of Green's Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Grace and Mrs. Opal Sherrod of Greenville; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Eura Langley of Hopkinsville; brother, George Lile of Greenville; two half-sisters, Mrs. Rosa Sharver of Evansville, Ind. and Mrs. Agnes Crick of White Plains.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Green's Chapel with the Rev. J.P. Burch officiating assisted by the Rev. L.L. Francis. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah A. Jarvis, 89, Dies at Home of Daughter
Mrs. Sarah A. Jarvis, 89, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Howell, near Central City, at 6:10 p.m., Friday. Mrs. Jarvis was a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church. She was the last member of a family of 21 children.
Surviving are one son, Owen Jarvis of Luzerne; five daughters, Mrs. Lillie Tucker of Chicago; Mrs. Bertha Howell of Central City; Mrs. Myrtle Turner of Louisville; Mrs. Evelyn Turner of Louisville; Mrs. Evelyn Stokes of Graham; and Mrs. Ethel Harper of Akron, OH; 25 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday in the Graham Methodist Church with the Rev. Rufus Graham officiating. Burial was in Unity Cemetery.

Central City - Sarah Elizabeth Jarvis, 17, of St. James Way, Route 2, Central City, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 1994, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. She was born in Christian County and was a student at Muhlenberg North High School.
Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard David Jarvis of Route 2, Central City; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Mann of Central City; her paternal grandmother, Zelma Jarvis of Owensboro; and a brother, Chris Jarvis of Route 2, Central City.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Tucker Funeral Home, Central City. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Central City. Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Greenville - Mrs. Alma Noffsinger Jernigan, 91, of Greenville died Sunday, December 24, 2000 at 4:50 p.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Jernigan was born in Muhlenberg County on August 14, 1909. She was a member of Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church. Mrs. Jernigan retired from Deaconess Hospital in 1972 and Cooksey Corporation in 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Jernigan in 1960.
Survivors include one son, Gaither Jernigan of Poseyville, Indiana; four daughters, Lana Cooksey of Lake Forest, California, Pat Hess of Bakersfield, California, Myrna Smith of New Hall, California and Valada Dugan of Evansville, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mareen Mercer of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church with Reverend Ken Miller, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery. Gary's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Everett Jessup, 66, Dies on Jan. 7
Everett Jessup, 66, died Friday, Jan. 7 at 5:15 a.m. in Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
He was born in Muhlenberg County Oct. 23, 1905 and lived on Greenville Route 1. He was a retired sawmill operator and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Tillie Jessup of Greenville Route 1; two sons, Edward Jessup and Earl Jessup of Crown Point, Ind.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hallie Bethel of Greenville and Mrs. Allie Bard of Greenville Route 1; three brothers, George Jessup and Jim Jessup of Greenville Route 1, J.W. Jessup of White Plains.
Funeral services were Sunday at 2 p.m. at Vernal Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Fred Fox. Burial was in the Vernal Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

Joseph H. Johns, Jr., 36, to Be Buried Friday
Nelson - Joseph H. Johns, Jr., 36, died at his home in the Nelson Community Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. following a lingering illness. He was born in Muhlenberg County Aug. 3, 1924.
He was a member of the Nelson Creek Baptist Church where funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 3 at 2 p.m., the Rev. Stanford Simmons, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Nellie Mae Johns of Nelson; brother, Carl Daniel Johns of Nelson; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Shelton and Mrs. James Sumner, both of Nelson, Mrs. W.A. Martin of Detroit.

H.N. (Tom) Johnson, 81 years old, died of heart disease at his home near Kirkmansville at 4:30 o'clock last Sunday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Higgins at the home Monday afternoon, and burial was in the Johnson cemetery. Surviving are the widow; three sons, Alvin, Clarence, and Herman Johnson, and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services For Juanita Johnson, Cleaton
Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Baptist church at Cleaton for Miss Juanita Johnson, 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Johnson, with the Rev. Mr. Harold of Drakesboro, in charge. Miss Johnson died at the home of her parents at 12:35 Wednesday afternoon. She had been in declining health for some time. Surviving besides her parents are several sisters and brothers. Burial was in the Miller cemetery.

Julian Johnson, 74, Dies in Louisville
Valley Station - Julian Pendleton Johnson, 74, Valley Station Route 3, formerly of Central City, died in the Jewish Hospital in Louisville Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7:30 a.m. He was a retired construction worker born in Butler County Jan. 20, 1883 and was a member of the Central City First Christian Church.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. in Central City with the Rev. C.W. Devine, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Central City, officiating. Burial was in the Nelson Creek Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Johnson of Valley Station Route 3; four sons, Homer Johnson of Chalmers, Ind., Oval, Leaman, and Welborn Johnson of Central City; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Geary of Central city, Mrs. Erbie Daniels of Louisville, Mrs. Joe Calvert of Valley Station; step-daughters, Mrs. Carl Watkins of Wyandotte, Mich.; four brothers, Charlie and Mel Johnson of Jetron, John and All Johnson of Bowling Green; 29 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mildred Robertson Johnson, 72, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., died at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Ft. Wayne on Wednesday, May 16 at 9:30 p.m., after a long illness.
Born in Central City July 9, 1900, she was a member of the Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Harold B. Cox of Los Angeles, Calif. and William R. Cox of Dayton, Ohio; daughters, Mrs. Arden Ober of Ft. Wayne; sister, Mrs. S.C. Gish Jr. of Central City; brother, J.F. Robertson of Sarasota, Fla.
Funeral services were at Plainfield, Ind. and burial was in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Missouri Johnson, Browder, Dies in Hospital
Mrs. Missouri Paralee Johnson, 80, died in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital at 6 p.m., Sunday. She was a member of the Holiness Church. Her home was Browder.
Surviving are three sons, Coy Sadler, Cleaton; Seymore Mayes, Browder; and Marvin Mayes of Browder; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Harper, Stringtown community; and Miss Iva Sadler of Central City; one brother J.T. Lear of Oak Hill community in Hopkins County; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday in the Sheegog Holiness Church, Central City, with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery.

Oval Johnson, 79, of 508 West Reservoir Avenue, Central City, died Wednesday, March 1 at 2:55 a.m. at Kentucky Rest Haven, Madisonville.
He was born March 11, 1909 in Butler County and was a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Mae Johnson; three daughters, Carolyn Curren of La Mesa, Calif., Margaret Wood of Central City and Vaudine Justice of Madisonville; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Homer Johnson of Louisville; three sisters, Erbie Daniels and Christine Calvert of Louisville and Donnie Geary of Central City.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Tucker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ernest Whitely officiating, assisted by the Rev. Margaret Justice. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery.

Robert Johnson, Colored, Dies Friday Afternoon
Robert Johnson, 62, colored, died at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Hopkinsville, Friday afternoon, January 11.
He was a native of Muhlenberg County and had lived in Greenville for the past 27 years. Funeral services were conducted at Wesley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Sunday at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. E. Horace Brown officiating. Burial was in the West End Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Archie Reno, Edgar Reynolds, Raymond Ackron, Israel Gibson, Henry Singleterry, and George Gregory.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Johnson; one stepson, James Vaught; two sisters, Mrs. Vannie Morgan and Mrs. Glade Hinton, Hopkinsville; three brothers, James Johnson of Woodburn, Will Johnson of Paducah, and Edward Johnson of Belton.

Mrs. John Johnson, 81, Dies in Ohio
Dayton, Ohio - Mrs. John R. (Verna) Johnson, 81, died in Dayton on March 30.
She was a former Logan County teacher and had lived in Central City and Bremen. The daughter of the late Dr. Tatum of Logan County, she had lived in Dayton about 30 years.
Surviving are a son, John Walton Johnson of Dayton; daughter, Mrs. William Drake of Dayton; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Services were in Dayton, conducted by the pastor of the Third Street Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton.

Greenville - Delbert E. Jones, 38, died Thursday morning, Feb. 29, in St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond, Ind. following a short illness.
He was born in Muhlenberg County Jan. 27, 1930.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Jones of Hammond; step-daughter, Mrs. Shirley Parsons of Hammond; six sisters, Mrs. Gwen Whodrey, New Albany, Ind.; Mrs. C.E. Rager of Philpot, Mrs. E.D. Herrell of Louisville, Mrs. Robert Wright of Griffith, Ind., Mrs. Bobby Turner of Hobart, Ind., Miss Glenia Jones of Louisville; two brothers Austin and Paul O. Jones of Louisville; parents Mr. and Mrs. Sellie Jones of Greenville Route 2.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Green Briar General Baptist Church by the Rev. William Mallory, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hester Ann Jones died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Calvin Geary, at Nelson, on May 14, at ten o'clock in the morning, following an illness that extended over a month of nephritis.
The daughter of Rube Vincent and Betty Ann Elmore Vincent, she was born in Muhlenberg county, November 29, 1860, and was the widow of Jesse Jones, deceased.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Nelson Baptist church, Rev. Dockery having charge of the services. Interment was in the church graveyard.

Funeral services for John Rufus Jones, 43, of Echols, who died at his home Friday afternoon, January 18, following an illness of one year, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Echols General Baptist church, with the Rev. Henry Baize, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
A retired farmer, Mr. Jones was a member of the Echols Baptist church.
Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Becky David Jones, six daughters, Mrs. Mamie Dockery, Butler county; Mrs. Hester Arnold, Cleaton, Ky.; Mrs. Nancy Tooley, Central City; Mrs. Ruthie Baize, McHenry; Mrs. Anna Mary Bratcher, Echols and Mrs. Jessie Lois Keown, Evansville; three sons, Mance Jones, Rockport, Ky., William and Mitchell Jones, both of Echols; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Geary and Mrs. Lillie Bullock, both of Nelson, Ky.; three brothers, Thomas Jones, Owensboro, Arbie Jones, Chicago, and Russell Jones, Arkansas.
The Cecil Chinn Funeral Home, McHenry, had charge of the funeral service.
