Robert Spotwoods Russell, was empowered by his father, William Russell, deceased, to locate & survey lands on South of Green River then in the state of VA, now in Logan County, KY in which Russelsville now stands, bond given by Robert to Maulding, for this Robert gave William Caldwell, 200 acres of land. Robert's security William Campbell. Caldwell, omitted his signature as Attorney for William Russell, therefore Robert stands liable & the heirs and legatees of William Russell, deceased, relinguish their right, title, claim of interest in the 200 acres.
