“Know ye, that William F. Weatherford, a pvt. of Capt. T.J. Lovelace, Company D, 3rd Reg of KY Cavalry Volunteers who was enrolled on the 15 day of Oct 1861 to serve three years or during the war is hereby discharged from the service of the US this 26 day of Dec 1864 at Savannah GA by reason of expiration of term of service. Said William F. Weatherford was born in Caswell County in the state of NC, is 34 years of age, 5 ft, 7¼ inches high, light complexion, blue eyes, light hair and by occupation when enrolled a farmer. Given at Savannah GA, this 26 day of Dec 186-.”
