General Notes: Marriage Books 1 & 2 consist of Minister's Returns - these are lists of couples married by Ministers who then had to return that information to the County Clerk. In some instances, the Minister(s) potentially forgot to do this, and because the original bonds and licenses were destroyed by a County Clerk, that a particular couple was married in Muhlenberg has been lost.
