Mrs. J.W. Phelps of this city has received word from her brother, Mr. George A. Sanders, of Balboa Canal zone, of the marriage of Miss Lilly J. Courville, a sister of Mrs. Sanders, to Dr. Noel Akers. The wedding took place at the United States consulate at Santander, Spain, October 28. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Aker visited here in 1930 for several weeks, and toured Kentucky and other states.

Allen, B.F. to Annie Arendell/Arndell

At the residence of Mr. J.D. Arndell, the bride's father, Mr. B.F. Allen was married to Miss Annie Arrendell on the 25th ult. Rev. J.R. Brown officiating.

Rev. Smith, pastor of the M.E. church was selected to officiate but he thought he could drive from Russellville in time but failed to get there and Rev. Brown was sent for. About thirty minutes after the wedding Rev. Smith arrived in ample time to get some excellent cake.

The newly married couple repaired at once to the residence of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Allen, who live about two hundred yards from the bride's home, where a bountiful supper was served.
