Muhlenberg County was formed in 1798 from parts of Logan and Christian Counties and was named in honor of General Peter Muhlenberg. The county seat is Greenville.

If you see any wrong information in any of the information that I've transcribed, please feel free to contact me. I'll change it as long as it wasn't the Clerk's mistake. If the County Clerk made a mistake, I can add a note saying as such. If you see any “wrong” information submitted by any of the individual's who have been kind enough to contribute information, I cannot change that information. You would have to discuss it with the contributor, and then he or she would have to ask me to change it, if she or he feels it needs to be changed. Thank you.
